What day was it? Sunday, 12th of November I think. So, not too long ago. I was at my mamma’s and we were having a breakfast together. Fried eggs, cold smoked ham, some fresh salad on the side. Coffee with milk. In other words – nothing unusual.
That’s a bit of an off topic introduction, but I guess I have to get there somehow. As we were having our nice little Sunday breakfast, we were talking about everything. Like we always do. To be honest, sometimes, I don’t even notice how fast time goes by because our conversations just flow from one thing to another and they are simply timeless. In the middle of it, completely randomly, my mamma goes – you should start a blog. My first thought of it in my head – oh, that’s not for me. I’m not a big writer and nobody would read my stuff anyways. Then I gave it a little thought and I started to change my mind. I’ve always enjoyed sharing stuff on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media. I often catch myself, that’s not enough and there is so much more I’d like to share, express my view or opinion on certain things. So here I am, starting a blog, where I can share it all.
Either it’s a new song that I recently heard, or this quote I found and I’d really like to share with others. I might have went to another concert that just blew my mind and I have to tell everyone about it. Some football coaching points or experiences will be gathered together here as well. Since I still play rugby, I might tell you about this muddy rugby Saturday tournament I just had. I’m sure there are still some caps with the Latvian women’s rugby national team still ahead of me, so I’ll tell you about this tournament we went to abroad. That’s just a little wrap about what’s coming and some ideas of what I’ll share on here.
Why Openly and Honestly? Well, in the past few years I have come to an understanding that living means being true to yourself and others. If I feel sad, I won’t try to suppress it or hide it. If I’m happy, you’ll see it right away. I won’t embellish things to please someone or the other way around. I’ll call things by their true names. So, here is to an open and honest life through my eyes.
